I bought a washing machine in mid November from the Hudson, WI Home Depot and not once was I asked if I needed help. It also took 5 weeks to get the machine delivered. Today I walked into the same store with the intent to purchase all new kitchen appliances. Once again NO ONE ASKED IF I NEEDED HELP. There were 2 girls "working" that were just chatting away about their weekend and 2 older men just moping around. All 4 of the employee's looked at me multiple times. Needless to say, i left the store and will never return!
I can think of a couple things I didn't find there. They really did not have remotely as good a selection of gas ranges as Lowe's. And I loved the Pergo Max flooring I found at Lowe's a few years ago.
Waited for a guy who was cutting boards to help us cherry pick a pallet of boards. When he was done with the one person, a random gal walks up and asks to get some stuff cut. Takes him 20-30 minutes to help us even though he should have helped us before her. That’s the bad part. They had a sale on carsiding, which was great. After all that though, a few guys helped out and the gentleman who ignored us at first took the time to get us what we needed in the end. Brady up front was a huge help, especially getting it loaded into our vehicle. 5 stars for him, 2.5 stars for the other guy, and 5 stars for the third guy who helped us too.
Went to the Hudson location to have cabinets priced for our kitchen of new construction. The fist time we went it took us 30 minutes to find someone to help us in the cabinet department. After talking to an employee we were informed that the person that does designs wouldn't be in until the following day. The next day we returned and were told he wasn't in that day but if we left a copy of the blueprints and our contract info he would write us up an estimate on the cabinets we picked out. We we're told that we would receive a call letting us know when the estimate was complete. A week later, after not hearing anything, I called asking to speak to someone in the cabinet department. Unsurprising at this point, no one answered. I left a message describing the situation and again left my contact information. It's now been 3 weeks and I've still heard nothing. I will not be returning to this location.
Grumpy employees, very rude. Most seem like they can't wait to get out of the store and don't care to help. One exception is a man who works in the lighting section. Only nice employee I've met. Another note to mention is that this location is one of the very few that don't allow dogs in the store. I travel the extra distance to other Home Depots for better service and where I can bring my very well behaved dog with me once in awhile.
Home Depot is my go-to place for hardware and house stuff. I almost always find what I need. Occasionally I wish I could find someone to help more easily. I've also ordered online and used the ship to the store option which was very convenient.
