I totally agree, the prices have shot up, they have started withholding items donated to the store by the community. Which I feel goes against the idea they claim they are a charity. It goes against the idea of taking care of the community the stores are in by passing judgement on what is fit for the community to have access too and what they keep for themselves. I have over heard associates talk about putting stuff off to the side and wait till they get off shift. Just one of many reasons why I am very careful what I purchase from any of them. I always check what an item goes for retail before I buy, their Target hand me downs are always over priced verses what Target charged. These are also reasons why I tell people not to donate to help them build more stores.
I love this store. It's very organized and clean and the prices are usually pretty decent.
Much of my wardrobe is from Goodwill located around the area. The cloths that are sold and donated to goodwill remain in good condition, you will find a variety of items including furniture, costumes, nick nacks as well as cloths at minimal prices here. This specific location is well organized, staffed and is a popular place to shop in Hudson, Wi
Apparently this place has forgotten that they are a thrift store. In addition, they are also clearly doubling as Target's Castaway Center for Misfit Merchandise. $30 for a flower pot and $9 for a t-shirt are prices I won't even pay at Target, much less a thrift store. Nonetheless the staff are very nice and there are an occasional deal if you care to dig deep into the shelves.
In the past year, this Goodwill location has raised it's prices, limited what a donation coupon can be used for, and is using high eBay for some of the more collectible items that show up in the store. While I do think they should charge a higher price for some items, salvage items from the local Target are sometimes more than they were while at Target, and cannot have coupons applied. I would say this is a change in corporate policy, but some other Goodwill stores nearby do not have the outrageous prices and offer a better selection for less.
