The best of the state park is the waterfall! We went there just for the small hike and play around the waterfall. It has a pretty good camping sites! And a very beautiful picnic areas! The hike was good, except that it was crowded. And the waterfall was beautiful and it was crowded too. Somehow we got to play and it was safe all around. There were people swimming too. Good scenic for great pictures!

The waterfall was pretty but other than that there's not much to do since they broke the dam and drain the lake. The campsites have some privacy but the bathrooms leave a little bit to be desired as far as water pressure and being able to control the temperature of the water. Also I was shocked to find out that there is an additional $11 a day fee or you have to pay like 30 or $40 for a year pass to park in a Wisconsin Park.

Campsites are very nicely done! Lots of underbrush between. Showers are average. Front desk reception not the friendliest. Waterfalls amazing. This would've been a great $30 stay, was definitely not a $44 stay.

As the check in agent indicated in a highly snotty way, " call the governor". She set a negative tone for our otherwise good stay.

We tent camp as much as we can in the summer and Willow River is our favorite place by far! Less than 30 minutes from Saint Paul, great private campsites, running water, nice bathrooms and showers, great hiking trails, and both falls are a blast to hang out at. I highly recommend it! Sites fill up quickly!

Great long hikes. Beautiful fall views. Trails are kept in amazing condition and a lot of maps around the trails so you don't get lost. Dog friendly and clean. The falls are beautiful and a lot of historical markers with cool information on them.
